Fred Dame, the world-renowned master sommelier whose superhuman tasting skills have become the stuff of legends in the industry, will be pouring a selection of Daou Family Estates wines at a pairing dinner Wednesday at Marina Kitchen & Bar.
Dame, who was called “the godfather of the American sommelier community” by a fellow master somm, was the first American to serve as president of the prestigious Court of Master Sommeliers Worldwide.
Today, he’s as an ambassador for the Paso Robles winery. The five-course dinner, created by Marina Kitchen executive chef Aron Schwartz, will be accompanied by Daou chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet, the acclaimed Soul of a Lion Bordeaux-style blend and Seventeen Forty, a cab franc-merlot blend.
