Pancakes fundraiser: The Community Food Connection is hosting a pancakes fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 30 at The Original Pancake House, 14905 Pomerado Road in Poway. Spring camping: Spend a night out under the stars and enjoy hiking, fishing and nature from 1 p.m. Friday, May 30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at Lake Poway, 14644 Lake Poway Road. A showing of the G-rated movie, “Kronk’s New Groove” will start after sunset and popcorn will be available. Fishing permits are not included and can be purchased at The Lookout. Family festival: The Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo’s fifth annual Vines & Vittles Family Festival will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31 in Webb Park, 11666 Avena Place in Rancho Bernardo. There will be food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, entertainment, artisan booths and shopping. Tickets are $15 for food only or $20 for food and alcohol if purchased by May 30 at vinesandvittlesfestival.com. At the event, food tickets remain at $15, but food and alcohol tickets are $30. Children 12 and under are free.

Dragon Boat Festival: To celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Rancho Bernardo Library will hold a free Dragon Boat Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31. It will be presented by The Hong Konger Club. Make a dragon boat and rice-dumpling decoration while supplies last, listen to festive stories in English and Cantonese, enjoy lychee-flavored snacks and more. All ages welcome. Free food: LifeBridge Church will hold its monthly food distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7 in its lower parking lot, 17645 W. Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo. The food is made possible through Buckheart Ranch, a San Diego Food Bank agency. Typically distributed are boxed and canned goods, plus fresh produce.
