Elizabeth Marie Himchak is the PB Monthly editor and reporter covering Rancho Bernardo and 4S Ranch for the Rancho Bernardo News Journal and Poway News Chieftain, both of which she was previously editor. She has covered Rancho Bernardo and 4S Ranch continuously since 2006, writing about a wide range of subjects, including community news, crime, politics, schools, features, business, the arts, entertainment and theater reviews. Over her career, Himchak has won scores of journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists San Diego Pro Chapter, San Diego Press Club and California News Publishers Association. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies (mass media emphasis) and master of arts in history. She is a member of the SPJ San Diego Pro Chapter, has served on its board since 2019 and is a member of the San Diego Press Club.
